Bangor drug bust lands 3 people in jail

From Maine Drug Enforcement Agency Commander Peter Arno:

“A man from Connecticut and a man and woman from Bangor were arrested last night following a several-month investigation into the sale of heroin and crack cocaine in Bangor’s Coe Park neighborhood.  Maine Drug Enforcement Agents and Bangor Police have been investigating the out of state importation and sale of heroin and crack from a George Street apartment. The investigation included the undercover purchase of crack cocaine from the apartment residence.

Late Thursday night, drug agents and Bangor Police searched the apartment at 24 George Street. Five people were found inside the apartment when police arrived. Seized were heroin and crack cocaine with a combined street value of approximately $6,000. In addition, approximately $6,500 in suspected drug proceeds was also seized.

The three arrested are:

  1. Roosevelt Brown- 32, of Stamford, CT was charged with Class “A” Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (heroin/crack). This charge was aggravated because 24 George Street is located within a 1000 feet of a designated “drug free safe zone”. Bail was set at $20,000 cash.
  2. Lynn Cook (aka: “Mama Lynn”)- 52, of 24 George Street, Bangor was charged with Class “A” Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (heroin/crack). This charge was aggravated because 24 George Street is located within a 1000 feet of a designated “drug free safe zone”. Bail was set at $20,000 cash. In addition, Cook had seven (7) outstanding warrants for her arrest.
  3. Thomas Anderson-53, of 24 George Street, Bangor was charged with Class “A” Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (heroin/crack). This charge was aggravated because 24 George Street is located within a 1000 feet of a designated “drug free safe zone”. Bail was set at $20,000 cash.

The trio were transported to the Penobscot County Jail.  MDEA Commander Peter Arno said the arrests were the latest example of out of state drug dealers targeting Maine communities by setting up shop in local homes.  More arrests are possible.”
