From the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department –
“Beginning the end of October of 2017, the Sheriff’s Office and Maine State Police began to receive reports of burglaries in the eastern portion of Hancock County. The burglaries involved over 20 different homes, camps and vehicles during this time period. During the course of these investigations, several suspects were identified.
On November 30, 2017 Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office, State Troopers, MDEA agents and the Maine Warden Service executed three search warrants in relation to these cases. As a result of these search warrants, many articles of property that are believed to be stolen were recovered in the towns of Surry and Hancock.
One adult male identified as Jacob Richardson, 19 YOA of Hancock was arrested and charged with Receiving stolen property, Class C, Reckless Conduct with a dangerous weapon, Class C and Creating a police standoff, Class E. These charges stem from the execution of the search warrant at Richardson’s home. As Officers made entry into the home, Jacob Richardson made threatening movements and or gestures toward the officers while using a firearm to do so. The officers took appropriate action to safeguard themselves, the public and the occupants of the home. Communication was established with Jacob Richardson and he ultimately surrendered to law enforcement without further incident.
A juvenile female, 17 YOA was also present during the execution of the search warrant. She has been charged with Receiving stolen property, Class C and Obstructing Government administration, Class D.”
