From the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office:
“On December 24, 2017 at approximately 7:30 pm the Waldo County Dispatch Center received a 911 call from employees of the Family Dollar Store in the Town of Unity reporting a robbery. Employees reported that a male suspect, identified as a white male, approximately 5’ 8” tall with a thin build entered the Family Dollar Store wearing dark clothing and had his face covered with a mask. The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded the money from the cash register. The cashier complied with the suspect’s demands and the suspect left the store with the cash.
Law enforcement personnel from the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and were assisted by the Maine State Police. No arrest have been made at this time. Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident and anyone with information is encouraged to call the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office at 338-2040.”
