Ellsworth:  Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County is pleased to announce their spring Gourmet Dinner Parties for a Cause program is off to a great start.  The first few dinners are full, but there are still seats available at some of the upcoming dinners. Generous hosts hold these dinners in their homes with all of the proceeds benefiting Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County.
Mediterranean Dining Under the Stars, Saturday, June 29:  Dine al fresco in the European style courtyard of historic Heywood House.  Enjoy the glowing cafe lights and flickering fi res while you listen to live jazz, all the while sipping delicious wines and tasting Mediterranean cuisine from tapas to dessert.  $95 per person.  Rain date, Sunday, June 30, same time.  Hosts Mike and Colleen Gross, Owners of Verona Wine & Design, Bucksport, 6:30 p.m.
Picnic By the Bay, Saturday, July 6, 2019:  Spend a lovely evening at the historic Scrivelsby estate.  Wine and non-alcoholic beverages are set up in the entryway so guests can take their drinks into the gardens.  The evening buffet with grilled salmon in a soy, ginger and garlic glaze, butter lettuce salad with dates and Feta, awaits in the dining room.  Dessert of Strawberry Rhubarb Pie by Edward Griffi n of Marlintini’s, follows.  $125 per person.  Hosts Tom and Kitty Clements, Blue Hill, 6:30 p.m.
BBQ With the Clydesdales, Saturday, July 20, 2019:  Gather outdoors for a barbecue under the tent and have appetizers and cocktails.  Visit the barn, meet and greet Butch, the rescued Clydesdale and others.  Savor homemade Brisket Chicken, beans, potato salad, coleslaw, and a scrumptious dessert. Wine, beer, tea and coffee served.  $100 per person.  Hosts David Doane and Michelle Rhodes Bucksport, 5:00 p.m.
