Memorial Day Events in Various Areas

The Ellsworth Memorial Day parade steps off at 10 am Monday, May 30th, with lineup at the
Moore Community School. Blue Hill also starts their parade at 10, with participants mustering
at the American Legion building at 9:30. And in Winter Harbor, the Acadian Community
Woman’s Club is holding a ceremony at Memorial Park on the Harbor Road beginning at 10 am.
Refreshments will be served immediately afterwards at the Winter Harbor Masonic Hall.
The Bar Harbor Garden Club is holding a Memorial Day observance at the Blue Star Memorial
Marker, Memorial Day morning at 11. The marker is one-third of a mile from the head of the
Island on Route 3. And in Addison, the VFW and Friends of the Church on the Hill hold their
Memorial Day observance on the front lawn of the Mayhew Library at 10 am.
The Town of Sullivan will have its annual Memorial Day service, beginning at 10 a.m. at the
town gazebo. Following the ceremony, they’ll drop the traditional memorial wreath from the
Sullivan Bridge. In Northeast Harbor at 10:30 am, American Legion Post 103 presents their
Memorial Day Parade, starting at Mount Desert Elementary School and ending at the marina.
