Mon Aug 20 at 10:30, Observe monarchs live with “Miss Robin” at Northeast Harbor Library. The Library is participating in “Monarch Watch,” raising caterpillars to be tagged & released as butterflies to monitor & ensure the health of the monarch population. Identify host plants (milkweed) for larvae & energy sources (nectar plants) for adult butterflies in our garden. Observe chrysalis, caterpillars, & maybe a butterfly tag & release from our very own Monarch Tank! Learn about the monarch’s life cycle, what plants monarchs need, & how you can help support monarch populations. This event is free & open to the public.
