Downeast Audubon will present a program titled “Attu: The Holy Grail of North American Birding” on Friday, Jan 12, at 7 pm at the Moore Community Center in Ellsworth. Attu, in the Aleutian Islands, is the westernmost point in the United States, located 1,500 miles from mainland Alaska. It is known worldwide as a birding mecca. Doug Hitchcox, Maine Audubon’s staff naturalist, will present a travelogue of photos and stories that document his birding adventure into the Eastern Hemisphere.  For more information, visit www.downeastaudubon.org.
