Benefit Dinner in Northeast Harbor

Put on your dancing shoes and bring your appetite for food and community connection to The Neighborhood House in Northeast Harbor on Saturday, Feb 1. Open Table MDI – a local nonprofit dedicated to serving free weekly suppers on Mount Desert Island – is hosting its third annual benefit dinner: “Let’s Taco ‘Bout Community!”
Community members are invited to join in support of this organization anytime between 4:30 and -9 p.m. The menu includes vegetarian tacos with assorted toppings. Dessert and nonalcoholic beverages will also be served. Dinner will be accompanied by music from several local bands and musicians, including: Banned from Eden; Nikolai Fox and Friends; Johnnie Garcia; Peter Lindquist; and The Phil Kell Jazz Quartet.
A silent auction is another part of the evening’s festivities. Over 90 local businesses and artisans have donated to the event. From pottery, original artwork, jewelry and photography to massages, restaurant gift certificates, farm shares and stays at local accommodations, there’s something for everyone.
“Let’s Taco ‘Bout Community” is being sponsored by Machias Savings Bank, Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, Wallace Events and Lynam Agency Insurance. The suggested donation at the door is $10 per person (children under the age of 8 are free).
