Free piano trio concert: violin, cello, and piano
Schubert’s Piano Trio in B-flat Major in four movements, written nearly two centuries ago, will be the featured work for the fourth in a series of free noon concerts presented by the Ellsworth Community Music Institute (ECMI).

Pianist Phillip Silver is an internationally-acclaimed solo and collaborative artist who has performed in many of the world’s leading concert halls. He has been a member of the Van Leer Chamber Players in Jerusalem and the Rachmaninov Trio in the United Kingdom. Silver’s most recent recording, of music by German-Jewish composer Bernhard Sekles, was released in February 2013 on the Toccata Classics label in London.

Noreen Silver has been the principal cellist of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra since 2005 and a faculty member at the University of Maine, where she directs the chamber music program, since 1999. She studied at the Royal College of Music in London and the New England Conservatory in Boston and privately with renowned cellists Pierre Fournier and Jacqueline du Pre.

Violinist Richard Hsu combines performing and teaching and has appeared with Orchestra of St. Lukes, Clarion Society, Early Music New York, New York State Baroque Ensemble, the American Classical Orchestra and Concert Royal. He is a former associate concertmaster of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and holds a performer diploma and bachelor’s degree in violin performance from the Indiana University School of Music.
