Free Tobacco Cessation Classes Coming to Ellsworth
What: Eight-week FREE course to help people quit tobacco and stay tobacco-free; registration required
Where: Meadow View Apartments, 25 Tweedy Lane, Ellsworth
Dates and Time: Tuesdays, 5:15pm – 6:15pm, from October 6 through November 24, 2015
Healthy Acadia is pleased to be partnering with Cancer Support Center of Maine to offer an 8-week tobacco cessation group course in Ellsworth this fall.
The classes will provide evidence-based tools and resources in a supportive, fun environment to help people quit tobacco and stay tobacco-free. The 8-week course is free and open to the public; registration is required. It will be held on Tuesdays from 5:15pm to 6:15pm, from October 6 through November 24, at Meadow View Apartments in Ellsworth.
Cancer Support Center of Maine’s Barbara Vittum will lead the 8-week class. Vittum has recently provided similar tobacco cessation group classes in Washington County, which have been highly popular and successful for participants. In the class, participants will gain new tools for quitting through a “no blame, no shame” approach; they will learn about the science behind tobacco addiction; they will build confidence in their ability to be tobacco free; they will enjoy the company of community members in a relaxed setting; and more!
