MACHIAS, Maine — A new art exhibit by student artist Katie Lynn Brown entitled “Tidewalker” will open at the University of Maine at Machias Powers Hall Art Gallery on Monday, April 13. An artist’s reception with Brown will be held 5-7 p.m. that evening and refreshments will be available.
Brown, 21, is from Lubec and is a senior in the Interdisciplinary Fine Arts Program at UMM. She will be graduating next year with a Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Arts. Brown’s work focuses on nautical themes such as fishing, lighthouses, whales, and boats, but it also has a personal touch as she includes her family members and her small fishing community in her work. The artworks are in pen, pencil, and pastel.
The Art Gallery is located just inside the front door of Powers Hall on the UMM campus.
