On Friday, Oct 21, at noon the Blue Hill Public Library is hosting a production of the Hospice Foundation of America, featuring national experts dealing with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, and including facilitated discussion led by representatives of Friendship Cottage and Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County, services available to local residents.

This educational program will address topics related to Alzheimer’s disease and grief including these important issues:

– Characteristics and unique challenges of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, for patients, families and professional caregivers.
– The grieving process experienced from onset of Alzheimer’s symptoms and through its progression.
– Ways to support families as they navigate associated changes in relationships and demands on caregivers.

This program is free of charge and all are welcome. For more information, call the library at 374-5515.
