Tile artist Kim Walker of Heirloom Tile Works and fine art photographer Gerard Monteux are holding a special two-day holiday fundraiser to benefit the animals at The Ark Animal Shelter in Cherryfield.
Billed as Arts for The Ark, Holiday Edition, the event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 21 and 22 at The Maine Grind Building in Ellsworth. Members of the animal-loving public are encouraged to bring their beloved pet to have its paw creatively cast in ceramic tile, and/or have a studio portrait done of their furry friend.

The cost for the tile press is $32. Two tiles will be produced, one for you and one to be donated and permanently placed at The Ark. Matted prints start at $20. Pre-registration to arrange your time slot for the event is required by Nov. 19. Forms are available at The Maine Grind Building, 192 Maine St., Ellsworth, The Ark and The Ark Thrift Shop in Blue Hill.
