The Mount Desert Island Historical Society’s 9th annual bean supper is scheduled for Thursday, Jan 23, from 6-8 pm at MDI High School. The event will feature a presentation by Liam Riordan, professor of history at UMaine, on “Maine Statehood and the Bicentennial: The View from Mount Desert Island.” Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children. The supper is open to the public.
