The Belt Sander Races take place on Sunday, Oct 11, from 3 to 5 pm at Atlantic Brewing, 15 Knox Road in Bar Harbor. This is a benefit for the Muir Fund for Local Cancer Support and the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center in Ellsworth. Entry to the races is a $20 donation and includes a full barbecue dinner and a pint glass for your beer. There is also a canoe race at noon on Long Pond in the morning that all are welcome to join if they’d like to make a biathlon out of the day. For more information, call 288-2337.
