Two island cemeteries, Mount Adams Cemetery on King Row, Deer Isle, & Mount Rest Cemetery at the Burnt Cove Church, Airport Road, Stonington, are featured in the first-ever Island Cemetery Tour hosted by the Stonington Public Library Sat July 9th 1-4 p.m. Cemetery tour guides, some in period costumes, will tell stories of the life & times of islanders at each location.
Tickets that include the tours and light refreshments at the Burnt Cove Church are $20 and available at the Stonington Public Library, Island Approaches, Boyce’s Motel and Turtle Gallery and Dockside Books. Also, on the day of the tour, tickets can be purchased at the Burnt Cove Church. A rain date has been set for July 10.
