The Alliance for Democracy Downeast is sponsoring a program on June 12 at 7 pm at Blue Hill Publie Library. It will start with audience participation in “Co-opoly,” a board game for teens and adults in which players collaborate to found and run a democratic business. Following this experience of the big and small challenges involved in co-ops, Mark Deeny, the general manager for the Blue Hill Food Co-op, will talk about the seven international principles used by cooperatives and how this business model is an economic engine for communities.
