Mount Desert Island Hospital nurse practitioners Angela DelVecchio, FNP-C and Linda Crowell, FNP-C of Cadillac Family Practice are set to host “Aging in Our Community,” a community conversation designed to address various issues surrounding health and aging on Tuesday, May 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lisa Stewart Women’s Health Center in the Wolf Conference Room on the center’s second floor.
Discussion topics will include nutrition and physical activity, transportation, community resources, caregivers and the issues they face as well as respite and hospice care.
“We believe that as the population ages, focus should be on maintaining health, being active in the community and remaining in the home for as long as possible. Most importantly, we want to hear what you feel are important issues facing the aging population today and in the future,” said Crowell.
The discussion will feature a variety of speakers from MDI Hospital including Heather Sinclair, LSW-S Kelly Corson BS, Lynne Assaf, Health Educator, LCSW, CADC, and Dana Smith, Speech Therapist.
