Location: University of Maine at Machias Science Building.
For the past three years the Caregivers’ Conference at UMM has been sponsored by Maine Veteran’s Home in Machias, Community Caring Collaborative, Davis Estates, Marshall Healthcare, Aramark, and University of Maine at Machias, with support from the Psychology & Community Studies Program.
This year the conference is focused on supporting loved ones with Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia. Talks will be given by Dr. Clifford Singer, Chief of Geriatric Neuropsychology at Acadia Hospital and Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bill Kirkpatrick, LICSW, Program Director, Alzheimer’s Association of Maine, and Lisa King, LSW of Maine Veteran’s Home in Machias. There will be a resource fair with representatives from community programs that support caregivers, families, and older adults. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
