“Hermit of Manana” Film at Northeast Harbor Library

The Northeast Harbor Library will show the film “Hermit of Manana” on Wednesday, March 16, at 5 pm in the Mellon Room. Manana is a small island near Monhegan Island. In 1928, World War I veteran and New York City grocer Ray Phillips landed there, having sailed there alone from New York. He built himself a shack from drift wood (there is no tree growth on Manana) and stayed for the last 50 years of his life.
