You’re Only Old Once at the Jesup

Raimondi, Natalie 9Natalie Raimondi says it’s never too late – to become a jazz singer or support the Jesup Memorial Library. Raimondi, a long-time Bar Harbor resident, will debut her new jazz show, “You’re Only Old Once” at the Jesup on Saturday, August 15 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for this special fundraising event are $20 and include a wine reception an hour before the concert.

Raimondi and her husband Matthew, founded and ran the Mount Desert Festival of Chamber Music for 50 years starting in 1963. A budding cabaret singer, she made her Big Apple debut in “Better Late than Never” and has sung at various special events and benefits in Northeast Harbor where audiences were surprised by her chutzpah onstage. Raimondi says her secret ambition and first love is to be a pop singer. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear her perform jazz at the Jesup.

Raimondi offered to host the concert because of her deep love for the Jesup, which she says is like a second home to her. She also knows that much of the funding the Jesup needs to serve the community comes from generous private donors and fundraisers such as this one. The Jesup has served as the public library for Bar Harbor since 1911, but is a private nonprofit that gets less than 5% of its funding from the town and about 49% comes from the library’s endowment.

We thank our sponsors for the event: The First, Coston and McIssac, CPA’s and A Slice of Eden.
