Island Readers & Writers (IRW) is a small nonprofit that brings literacy programs & books to children living on Maine’s coastal islands and in Washington County. This year on October 10 & 11, 2024, they will be hosting a second annual Dear Teacher professional development conference at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, ME.
This conference is specifically designed for pre-K–8 teachers and librarians in Maine’s small and rural schools, and is filled with two days of professional development workshops, giveaways and door prizes, and lots of encouragement! Teachers who attend are also eligible for Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
