At 6:00 PM on May 14th, Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, with the support of Machias Savings Bank, will host EMS personnel from Hancock and Washington Counties for their annual EMS Recognition Celebration. The event honors the partnership between hospitals and responders that saves lives. “Emergency Medical Services play such a vital role in our communities and we are thrilled to sponsor the upcoming appreciation dinner in honor of these men and women.” Says Jill Golding, Ellsworth Branch Manager of Machias Savings Bank.
Each year, an award is presented by the hospital for the Outstanding Emergency Call of the Year and this year, for the first time, nominations are being opened to the public. If you had an outstanding experience with a first responder, or team of first responders, in the past year please submit your nomination to Malen Hsu via email at [email protected] or by mail at 50 Union St. Ellsworth ME, 04605. If you prefer to make your nomination by phone, please call 664-5311 and ask for extension 2030. Nominations must be received by May 1st. Be sure to include names, the date of the call, the location, and a brief description of the event.
Over fifteen First Responder organizations work with Maine Coast Memorial Hospital throughout the year assisting many of the nearly 20,000 patients served annually.
