Artist/illustrator Barbara L. Gibson will show how a National Geographic nature book for children is made in a program at the Winter Harbor Public Library on Wednesday, August 5, from 4 to 5:30 pm. Gibson will explain how she collaborates with researchers and natural science specialists to develop accurate scenarios with movable parts, and with a paper engineer to mesh movement with realistically illustrated animals and plants to show children how the rain forest works and is integral to the health of the planet.
