
Pink Tulip Festival in Ellsworth

The Ellsworth Garden Club will host its annual family-friendly Pink Tulip Festival and Plant Sale at Donald Little Park on State Street on Saturday, May 31, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Rain date June 1.
The plant sale will feature a wide selection of plants. Perennials will include both native and nonnative species such as joe-pye, New England asters, hosta, daylilies, delphinium, rudbeckia, liatris, lamb’s ear, phlox and roses. Trees, shrubs, houseplants, dahlias and herbs, including catnip, will be available, as will be a good selection of seedlings, many organically grown.
For vegetables there will be a selection of varieties of tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers and squash. Annuals will include sunflowers, petunias and cosmos. There will be free plants for children.
The Ellsworth Elementary-Middle School will have its own booth. Seedlings grown by club members and students and teachers at the school will be sold to benefit the school’s gardening program.
Star 97.7 will broadcast live on location, and the Fletcher’s Landing Philharmonic Orchestra will perform. Baked goods, other food and drink will be available for purchase.
