The public is invited to participate in the Blue Hill Public Library Play Reading Group on Wednesday, Oct 21, from 6:30 to 9 pm at the library. This month, the group will read Arthur Miller’s “The Crucible.” “The Crucible,” written in 1953 as an allegory of McCarthyism — the anti-communist fervor in the United States during the early Cold War – takes place during the Salem Witch Trials in the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1692. The group welcomes inexperienced and experienced readers alike.
