The Pleasant River Historical Society is sponsoring a talk by Steve Haynes of the Maine Granite Industry Museum of Mount Desert on Friday, Aug 12, at 7 pm at the Addison Town Hall. Haynes will speak on “Addison’s Granite Industry.” The program will be preceded at 6:30 pm with a brief business meeting. Haynes will bring tools and an accompanying multimedia presentation of local scenes and recollections of this vibrant business. There will be practical hands-on examples of stone cutting techniques.
