The Downeast Salmon Federation is hosting a smelt fry for Saturday, April 16, as part of the “Alewives: Small Fish, Big Impact” series of community events on April 16 from 11 to 5 pm in Columbia Falls. Learn about alewives and the critical economic, environmental, cultural and social roles they play in our lives in Downeast Maine. Activities will run throughout April and May 2016. These free public events include film screenings, book discussions, story hours, art projects, a panel discussion and more.
