Smolt Bolt and Bloater Bash

The Downeast Salmon Federation (DSF) would like to invite you to their 3^rd annual Smolt Bolt and Bloater Bash, May 9^th at their East Machias Aquatic Research Center (EMARC). The race begins at the Downeast Sunrise Trail across from Dunkin’ Donuts in Machias, and follows the Trail to the finish line at EMARC. A post-race social will follow the race where refreshments will be served, including whole-smoked alewives, or Bloaters. Race participants can register in advance for $15 in person at EMARC or online at , registration includes a race t-shirt while supplies last. Registration after May 1^st is $20. The post-race social is free to all, though donations are welcome. Registration and race number pick up will begin at 8am on Saturday, May 9^th at EMARC and the race will start at 10am. Parking is available at EMARC and shuttles will be available to take racers to the starting line. This event is a celebration of two great fish migrations – the Atlantic salmon smolt, and the river herring; come join the celebration!
