On Saturday, April 16, beginning at 10:30 am there will be a cleanup at the School Street playground in Stonington. Adults and children alike are welcome to pitch in. For those families with children too young to help, the Stonington Opera House will be offering activities including cookie decorating, coloring and more. From 11–11:45, the Island Community Center will host a paper hat making class. Following this, there will be a free pizza lunch, courtesy of the Island Employee Cooperative. At 12:30 p.m., the action moves over to the Opera House with a dance lesson from Sue Senecal of Sue’s School of Dance. Opera House Arts and the Island Nursing Home will offer a free screening of Disney classic “Newsies” at 1 pm. For more information, visit www.operahousearts.org or call 367-2788.
