Surry Historical Society Meeting

The Surry Historical Society will present a talk by Dr. Wayne Smith, “Surry Boys’ Tragic Voyage,” on Monday, June 17, at 7 pm at Old Town Hall, 1217 Surry Road.
Learn all about a tragedy at sea in 1877 that claimed the lives of five young men from Surry on a voyage to the West Indies. Their bereaved families suffered further grief at the hands of unscrupulous ship owners. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.
