“The Geologic History of Lamoine & MDI” Program in Lamoine

The Lamoine Conservation Commission will be hosting a public talk titled “The Geologic History of Lamoine and MDI” on Wednesday, Aug 10, at 7 pm at the Lamoine Consolidated School. Duane and Ruth Braun, local geologists, will speak about the geology of Lamoine and Mount Desert Island and longtime climate change.

After the talk, the Brauns will have copies of their newly published book, “Guide to the Geology of Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park,” for sale for the price of $20. Profits from the book sales go to the Maine Granite Industry Museum on MDI. All are welcome and light refreshments will be available.
