Union Square Dead Run & Headless Half-Mile

Calling all zombies, werewolves, Pokemon’s and all others interested in a run that’s combined
with fun! You won’t want to miss The 2 mile Dead Run and Headless Half Mile being
presented by Union Square on Saturday, October 24th at the Woodlawn Museum in
Ellsworth.
Costumes are encouraged. Awards will be given for the best costume for male and female in
the Adult, Teen and Child categories. Awards will also be given to the overall male and female
winners for both the 2-mile Dead Run and the Headless Half-Mile. This Halloween themed run
is meant for all ages and will be timed. “Everyone loves the trails at Woodlawn,” says
organizer Benjamin Speed. “Consider this the kickoff to your Halloween week celebration.”
This isn’t just an event for the serious runner, it is also for folks looking for a fun event and a
chance to dress up.
This is the second annual Dead Run and Headless Half-Mile for Union Square. The group is
made up of young professionals with the mission of engaging young people, enriching their
community and enjoying the Ellsworth Area while exploring places and relationships that
blend family, work and play.
Registration starts at 3pm. The race begins at 4pm. The event is $15.00 for participants in
costume and $20.00 without costume. There will also be fresh Cider provided and pumpkins
