University of Maine at Machias Invites Local Employers to Professional Support Group

MACHIAS, Maine — The University of Maine at Machias (UMM) Career Services is reaching out to local employers who are interested in being involved in a professional/employer networking support group for the students at UMM.  As a collaboration between the University Career Services and local employers, this initiative will include:

• Social/networking events held on campus and in the community.
• Job opportunities within our community.
• Internship/Job Shadowing – Mentoring opportunities for undergraduates.

To implement this initiative, UMM Career Services is offering an opportunity for Washington County employers to participate in the Celebration of UMM event being held on campus from 3-5 p.m. Thursday, May 7 at the Reynolds Center.  This event is an opportunity for UMM students, faculty, and staff to be honored and celebrated for their accomplishments over the last year.  We encourage our local employers to come to the event to support and network with our UMM students, but also to be recognized for your support to our UMM community.

This program is presented as part of engaging our local work force in a collaboration of future partnerships in providing support and opportunities for UMM students.
