The Third Annual Wine & Whiskers celebration will benefit the SPCA of Hancock County’s animal shelter. The benefit and auction begins at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, at the Asticou Inn in Northeast Harbor. The cost is $125 per person ($62.50 of which is tax-deductible). This includes hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, dessert and live music by the popular local band The Crown Vics.
The event also will include silent and live auctions, with Hugh Hildesly of Sotheby’s serving as the evening’s auctioneer. Auction items include a harbor seal sculpture by local artist Dan Falt, trips to Bali and Taos, N.M., jewelry designed by Lisa Hall, dinner for 10 at Havana and tickets to attend a taping of the popular Bravo TV show “Watch What Happens Live.” This is the SPCA’s largest fundraiser of the year. All of the proceeds directly support the operation of the nonprofit organization’s animal shelter. The shelter is located in Trenton and serves all of Hancock County.
