A holiday tradition for 32 years, the Bay School Winter Faire is a community celebration featuring music, food, art, puppet shows, craft projects and games. The event, which is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., is free and open to the public.
This year’s music venue features the award-winning Blue Hill Consolidated School Jazz Band, the acoustic sounds of Paul Oxman on the guitar, the Bay School Chorus, local favorite the Loose Cannon Jug Band and, in their Blue Hill debut, The Leftovers, a garage band out of East Blue Hill. “Buy Local & Relax” is the theme of all three shopping venues at Winter Faire. Emlen Hall’s juried art show features artists from around the Blue Hill Peninsula, including potters, weavers, folk art, writers, fine art and fiber arts.
The café will be offering carrot ginger soup, mac ’n cheese, El El Friojles’ beans and rice and fresh apple cider. Bianco sausages, hot dogs, Smith Family Farm hot chocolate and Rooster Brother’s Coffee can be found outside at the Gryphon Grill.
