Woodlawn is pleased to present If the Black House Were For Sale (which it is not!) as the fourth session in its Woodlawn Over Coffee series on Wednesday, April 1st, 10-11am at the Black House in Ellsworth.
This Woodlawn Over Coffee session, purposely scheduled on April Fools Day, will be a
light-hearted, fictitious real estate broker’s tour of the historic Black House. The program will be led by local realtor and Woodlawn Trustee Emerita, Teri Sargent Smith. The interactive tour invites attendees to take on the role of buyers as Smith showcases the 19th century state of the art conveniences and weaves them into a modern day sales pitch.
The idea for the talk came from Woodlawn’s executive director, Joshua Torrance, “Believe it or not, on a number of occasions people have approached me to inquire if the Black House is for sale. Each time, I found myself chuckling as I thought about what the selling points might be. With the popularity of today’s television shows on buying, selling and renovating homes, it seemed a great time to offer a fun-filled program along those lines for our community to enjoy, especially on April Fools Day.”
Woodlawn Over Coffee is open to the public and free of charge, however donations are appreciated. Cake and coffee will be available at each session. Space is limited, so call 667-8671 or e-mail [email protected] to reserve a seat or additional information.
The series continues in coming weeks with: Think Programs! an overview of Woodlawn’s 2015 program calendar on April 8th, and on April 11th, Getting Ready for Guests, an overview of what it takes to open the Black House for the season. For details, visit the event calendar page at woodlawnmuseum.org
