New Sheets and Bedding for Emmaus Shelter
The Emmaus Homeless Shelter is collecting sheets and bedding items this month. They’re looking for new, in-package pillowcases, blankets and comforters, sheet sets, and monetary donations. Donors will have a chance to win a prize basket with gift certificates from MoMo’s Cheescakes, Ellsworth Nutrition, and Sylvia’s Café. For more info, contact the Shelter at 667-3962.

Cook up something special at the Firecracker Salmon Poke (PO-kay) Bowl virtual workshop.You’ll make spicy and sweet salmon, atop a bowl of jasmine rice and cool slaw, with spicypeanut dressing. The monthly Christian Music Share, in Cherryfield, will be on April 7th (Thursday) from 6-8 p.m. The event is held at the Cherryfield Academy Community Center located at 53 Main Street. Donations will go into the Cherryfield Academy Community Center Programming Fund. Hymns, Contemporary pieces, Spirituals and more are welcome. Come sing, play an instrument or both or just come and listen. They meet the first Thursday of each month.

Hop on over for some breakfast on April 9 from 7 to 9 a.m. at the Brooksville Community Center. All proceeds made from the breakfast will go toward repairing the roof and replacing the front porch. On Saturday, April 9, at 12:30 p.m., the Brooksville Town House will be the site of a workshop to create “pysanky,” or Ukrainian decorated eggs. 100 percent of donations received will be sent to benefit refugees from Ukraine. Because the technique requires focused concentration, the materials are fragile and melted beeswax is involved, this workshop is not suitable for young children. This coming Saturday, April 9th, the Searsport United Methodist Church is holding another of their popular Take Out Turkey Dinners! Pick up dinners from 4 to 6 at the church on Main Street.
