“Miles for Meals” Benefit
The Hancock County Food Drive “Miles for Meals” is a week-long walking, hiking, and runningchallenge from Saturday, April 16th through Sunday April 24th. The Mount Desert Island YMCA is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt, Easter Egg Family Swim and preschool open house on Saturday, April 16, from 10 a.m.-noon. The event is free and open to the community with a suggested donation of $5 per child or a max of $10 per family, and don’t forget to bring your Easter baskets! The Town of Mt. Desert has set the date for the town’s annual Spring Clean Up. It’ll be heldApril 18th through the 22nd in Northeast Harbor. Residents need to have items at the curb by7 a.m. each day. Leaf pickup will be April 25th. Contact the town office for a completeschedule.

Build a bee house for non-stinging Mason bees and leaf-cutter bees in this Spring Break workshop at the Wendell Gilley Museum on Mon Apr 18 at 10 am. The cost is $20 per beehouse. The 6th Mini Golf Extravaganza will take place April 21-23, noon to 8:00 p.m. each day, at the Cherryfield Academy Community Center located at 53 Main St in Cherryfield. The Woodlawn Museum in Ellsworth is looking for volunteers to help with their annual spring cleanup on Saturday, April 23rd, beginning at 8 a.m. Wear your boots or sturdy shoes and bring work gloves and a rake if you have one. Coffee and donuts will be provided, and they promise to have you home by lunchtime.
