Hop on over for some breakfast on April 9 from 7 to 9 a.m. at the Brooksville Community Center. All proceeds made from the breakfast will go toward repairing the roof and replacing the front porch.  Can’t make it but would like to donate? An Easter Egg Hunt and Activities are planned for Sat Apr 9 from 10 to noon at the Franklin Veterans Club.  Cost is $5 per child, free for adults.  Proceeds go towards the Community Closet and the Phillip Carter Reading Foundation.

On Saturday, April 9, at 12:30 p.m., the Brooksville Town House will be the site of a workshop to create “pysanky,” or Ukrainian decorated eggs.  100 percent of donations received will be sent to benefit refugees from Ukraine. Because the technique requires focused concentration, the materials are fragile and melted beeswax is involved, this workshop is not suitable for young children.  To register, contact Brook Minner at the Brooksville Free Public Library at 326-4560 or [email protected].

This coming Saturday, April 9th, the Searsport United Methodist Church is holding another of their popular Take Out Turkey Dinners! Pick up dinners from 4 to 6 at the church on Main Street. Cost is $10 per meal which is a full *Thanksgiving Style* turkey dinner, complete with homemade pies! All meals are "to go," with no reservations necessary.

The United Methodist Church of Orrington, located at 14 Center Drive, is holding a to-go homemade chicken pie supper on Saturday, April 9, at from 5-7 p.m. Tickets are $10 and only available until April 2.  Call 949-0412 or 825-4414 for more information.

Tip-A-Cop is happening on Mon Apr 11 at 5pm at Helen's Restaurant in Ellsworth.  This is a benefit for Downeast Project Hope.  The Ellsworth Police will be on hand to wait on customers.

In Searsport, the Carver Memorial Library Book Club meets in the afternoon on the second Tuesday of each month. Their next meeting takes place Tuesday, April 12th, 1pm inside Union Hall which is located at 3 Reservoir Street in Searsport. All are welcome, as this club is free and open to the public, with new books distributed each month. If you’re interested in joining and have questions, call the library at 548-2303.

Wide-Eyed art talks will be held on April 14, 21 & 28th from 7 to 8 pm at the Old Surry Village School, 7 Toddy Pond Road.  Admission is free and art books will be raffled.  For more information, call 667-4877.
