The Ark Animal Shelter in Cherryfield kicks off their bottle drive/bake sale and raffle fundraiser schedule for 2022 on Jan. 22nd from 9 to 1 at the Franklin Veterans Club. Raffle items include a handmade quilt a $100.00, L.L. Bean Gift Card, & $50.00 worth of scratch off tickets. All proceeds benefit the Ark Animal Shelter's general operating fund.

The first performance of the Blue Hill Concert Association’s 44th season is Sunday, January 23rd at 3pm. The show features the Kenari Quartet, playing a variety of music including classical and jazz standards. Masks and proof of vaccination are required. Oranbega Retreat Center in Orland is holding its second annual Burns Night Supper on Tuesday, Jan. 25, at 6:30 p.m. , with a mixture of Zoom and in-person participants. The program includes Highland piping, other Scottish music, and the poetry of Robert Burns. The menu for those attending in person includes haggis, neeps and tatties, plus shortbread and mince pies for dessert. In-person or Zoom registration is required at 952-2363.
