Turkey Shoot in Waltham
The Waltham-Eastbrook Youth Association is holding turkey shoots every Sunday in October from 10 to noon at the shooting range off Route 200 in Waltham. Shooting is at paper targets, with frozen turkeys going to the winner of each of the 15 events. Proceeds go to the Association’s local scholarship fund. For more info, call 584-3000.

The third annual Pumpkin Hike at Jordan Homestead Preserve happens Thursday and Friday, October 28th and 29th, from 4 to 7 pm. Frenchman Bay Conservancy will be lighting the onemile loop trail with jack o’lanterns, and you’re invited to come and vote for your favorite pumpkin. Wear your costume, if you’d like! Registration is required to attend the event by going online to FrenchmanBay.org.

Spooky stories will abound in Bucksport Friday night (10/29) for “Haunted Stories on the Hill”, starting at 6 pm on the lawn of Wilson Hall. Free donuts, popcorn, and cider. Admission is free, with donations accepted for Buck Memorial Library. Rain date is Saturday.

The SPCA of Hancock County invites you to support the animals by joining in on the Third Annual Howl-O-Run 5k Run and Walk. The event starts at Marlboro Beach in Lamoine, with a scenic course lined with jack-o-lanterns, autumn foliage, and the ocean and mountains of Acadia.
