Classical Concert in Ellsworth
Free concert this Friday, courtesy of the Ellsworth Community Music Institute. The Halcyon String Quartet and Friends will play at the Moore Community Center in Ellsworth at 1 pm Friday (10/22). Masks are required, and the audience is limited to 50 members with seats filled on a first come, first served basis. Admission is free.

Cave Hill School with be having their annual fish fry to benefit the 8th grade class on Fri Oct 22 from 5 to 7 pm. Take out and car hop style will be available in the parking lot. Cost is $8 adults and $5 for under age 12. Fried haddock or chicken fingers, coleslaw, rolls, lemonade, coffee and more. Cave Hill School is located at 1205 Eastbrook Road in Eastbrook.

The Penobscot United Methodist Church is hosting a public breakfast on Saturday (10/23) from 7-9 a.m. Admission is $9 for adults and $4.50 for ages 12 and under. The menu will include pancakes, homefries, bacon, eggs, muffins, and more.

There will be a fall market at the Cherryfield Academy Community Center on Saturday (10/23) from 9 to 3. Admission is free, with door prizes, a chowder lunch, and desserts available for purchase. Space rental is 15-dollars, and you can reserve yours by calling 598-5000.

Woodlawn Museum in Ellsworth is holding a FREE Family Field Day on Saturday, October 23rd from 10 to 2. There'll be field games, backyard croquet, face painting, races, & team events, plus a story trail, cider pressing, pumpkin carving & refreshments. The Halcyon Grange in Blue Hill is hosting its annual pig roast harvest supper, Saturday (10/23) from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. This year, it’s a takeout-only event. 15-dollars for adults and 5-dollars for kids. The public is welcome.

The Brooksville Community Center is hosting a Halloween Dance Saturday (10/23) from 7 to 11pm. The band “Three Mile Line” provides the music. The dance is BYOB for adults 21 and older, with a suggested donation of 10-dollars. Proceeds go toward helping replace the front porch and the back room.

The Waltham-Eastbrook Youth Association is holding turkey shoots every Sunday in October from 10 to noon at the shooting range off Route 200 in Waltham. Shooting is at paper targets, with frozen turkeys going to the winner of each of the 15 events. Proceeds go to the Association’s local scholarship fund. For more info, call 584-3000.

The third annual Pumpkin Hike at Jordan Homestead Preserve happens Thursday and Friday, October 28th and 29th, from 4 to 7 pm. Frenchman Bay Conservancy will be lighting the onemile loop trail with jack o’lanterns, and you’re invited to come and vote for your favorite pumpkin. Wear your costume, if you’d like! Registration is required to attend the event by going online to FrenchmanBay.org.
