The Cherryfield Ambulance Service is bringing back the Chicken Barbecue as part of Cherryfield Days, Saturday, June 26th starting at 11 am! Motorcycles of Maine is having The River MDI Ride on Sun June 27th at the River Church in Town Hill. Coffee & donuts begin the adventure at 9:30 am, Blessing Service at 10:30 and a FREE family BBQ lunch following. The River MDI Ride begins at 1 pm with a 2 hour ride around MDI.

It’s not too early to sign up for the Crush Cancer 5k Race, happening in Jonesboro on Sunday, June 27th starting at 1pm. It’s an ocean view race course, also featuring a kids’ 1-mile fun run. Registration is online only, and you can do that by going to RunSignup.com, and clicking “find a race”.

On Friday, July 2nd from 9 to noon, Art Show 175 features its exceptional Plein Air! (Webster defines Plein Air as “of or relating to painting in outdoor daylight.”) The public can view several local artists creating at their easels, including stops at six familiar Searsport locations: Mosman Park, the Mill Pond (top of Steamboat Avenue), Hamilton Wharf, Penobscot Marine Museum campus, Searsport’s Main Street, and the Hamilton Learning Center on East Main Street (former Seine Loft).
