Bicycle Raffle Benefit in Bar Harbor
The Bar Harbor Food Pantry gives you a chance to win an amazing bicycle while you help fight food insecurity. Choose between a Specialized Sirius X3.0 worth $1,000... or an Electric Fat Tire Bike worth $1600, donated from Pedego in Bar Harbor. Both bikes are on display at the Side Street Café. The American Red Cross is experiencing a severe blood shortage, due in large part to the pandemic. A typically high number of traumas and emergency room visits, as well as overdoses and resulting transplants, have caused blood supplies to plummet. The next Red Cross Blood Drive in Hancock County takes place Tuesday, June 22nd from noon to 6 at the Ellsworth Elks Lodge, located at 317 High Street. Carver Memorial Library in Searsport is holding a Hula Hoop Making Workshop and Dance Party this Friday, June 25th on the library lawn, starting at 2pm. Hoop making at 2 and dance lessons WITH the hoops start at 3! Hoop makers under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult. The Ellsworth Hometown Festival happens Saturday (6/26) at the Maine Coast Mall. Featured this year: a petting zoo, craft fair, kids’ activities, water safety from the Maine Game Wardens, food drive for the Emmaus Shelter, the Hancock County Sheriff’s children’s retina scan, and the annual recipe contest – featuring strawberries. The Cherryfield Ambulance Service is bringing back the Chicken Barbecue as part of Cherryfield Days, Saturday, June 26th starting at 11 am! Motorcycles of Maine is having The River MDI Ride on Sun June 27th at the River Church in Town Hill. Coffee & donuts begin the adventure at 9:30 am, Blessing Service at 10:30 and a FREE family BBQ lunch following. The River MDI Ride begins at 1 pm with a 2 hour ride around MDI.
