SPCA Open House Celebration
The SPCA of Hancock County is holding a free Welcome Back to the Shelter Open House celebration on Saturday, October 10th from 10 to 2 at the shelter on Route 3 in Trenton. The Ellsworth Lioness Club will have free puppet kits for kids. The Bar Harbor/MDI Rotary's serving food. There's be a huge, fundraising Tag Sale. The Second Annual First Responders Charity Event will be held at 471 Millvale Road in Bucksport on Sat Oct 10 from noon to 10 pm. The Dan Morgan Band will be playing at 7 that evening and throughout the day there will be food, a raffle and games. All proceeds will be donated to local first responders.

St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church in Ellsworth is holding its first ever virtual marketplace from Mon Oct 12 through Wed Nov 18. Proceeds will benefit Downeast Community Partners’ THAW program, which helps people with low incomes who are having difficulty paying home energy bills. All orders are processed online. The First Congregational Church of Cherryfield, located at 12 River Road, will hold a take-out turkey dinner on Wednesday, Oct 14. Tickets are $10 each and will go on sale at 4:45 pm at the church.
