Online Talk About Kidney Disease
The Jesup Memorial Library is sponsoring an online talk titled “How the Black Bear May Hold the Secret to a Cure for Kidney Disease” on Tuesday, July 21, at 7 pm. The speaker is Dr. Ron Korstanje, an associate professor at The Jackson Laboratory. This talk will use Webex which is a videoconferencing system that is similar to Zoom. Super Hero Weekend is happening at Fort Knox on Fri through Sun July 24-26 from 10 to 5 pm. Come dressed as your favorite hero or villain, but no dangerous props please. The SPCA of Hancock County is holding another big fundraising save our shelter bottle drive on Sat July 25th from 9 to noon. SPCA volunteers are collecting your returnables right at the shelter on Route 3 in Trenton. Other drop off locations include: the Franklin Veteran's Club, the Twilight Motel in Ellsworth, Surry General Store, 1305 Surry Road and the Sullivan Town Office.
