Little Long Pond Virtual Program
The Jesup Memorial Library is hosting a virtual program about managing Little Long Pond Preserve on Thurs June 25 from 7 to 8 pm. Join Tate Bushell, Natural Lands Director for the Land & Garden Preserve, to learn about ongoing and future management at Little Long Pond in Seal Harbor. The Schoodic Peninsula benefit bicycle ride for Schoodic Arts for All is scheduled for Sat June 27 (June 28 rain date). Registration is from 9 to 10 am at Hammond Hall, 427 Main St., Winter Harbor. The ride begins at 10:30 at Frazer Point and is approximately 13 miles. Masks and social distancing are required. The SPCA of Hancock County in Trenton is holding a fundraising “Save Our Shelter Bottle Drive” on Saturday, June 27th from nine to noon. Volunteers will be collecting your returnables right at the shelter on Route 3 in Trenton, and also at Franklin Veteran’s Club at Cards Crossing, The Surry Store at 1305 Surry Rd, and at a residence in Sedgwick located on Route 15 at 112 Otter Cove Lane, just south of Strong Brewery. Gerry Monteux, who is a nature photographer, will be teaching a photography workshop on Sat June 27 from 1 to 4 pm on the grounds of Woodlawn Museum. Cost is $42 for members and $45 for non-members. The P.E.O. Pie Ladies are holding their 10th annual Pie Sale this coming Friday, July 3rd. This year's sale is pre-orders only, so you'll need to phone your pie order in by TOMORROW, June 30th. The Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center, located at 163 High Street, is your first area stop to pick up your weekly Acadia National Park pass. Weekly passes are $30 and admit a private vehicle and all occupants to the park for 7 days.
