Outdoor Safety Talk Online
The Ellsworth Public Library and Frenchman Bay Conservancy are collaborating to present an online program titled “Enjoy the Outdoors Safely this Summer” on Tuesday, May 19, at 2 pm. The 20th Annual Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center Walk For Life in Ellsworth and Addison has been postponed. The planning committee has not yet determined a make up date, but is looking at dates in September and October of this year. Join SNAP-Ed Nutrition Educator Nicole Gurreri, in collaboration with Ellsworth Public Library, for a one-hour virtual nutrition education session on Thursday, May 21, at 11 am. Participants will learn tips to choose healthy foods at the grocery store while sticking to their food budget. The RSU 24 Adult Education Program is offering a free, two-week online art class for members of the public of all ages. Participants will be taking nature-based photos and annotating them with amusing anecdotes and insightful information outside of class and then be sharing their photos/writings online during class. A fundraiser has been created called fireFIGHTER204, an effort to outfit every interior firefighter in Hancock County with personal protective equipment to hopefully prevent future cancer diagnosis.
