Mad Scientist Scramble in Ellsworth
The Ellsworth High School National Science Honor Society is hosting the 2nd Annual Mad Scientist Scramble: a Fun Run and 5k Race, on Sunday, April 30 at the high school. Registration starts at 7:30 am, the fun run is at 8:30, and the 5K begins at 9:30. For more information, go to RunReg.com and search for “Mad Scientist Scramble”.

Top to Bottom Drive Collection
Downeast Community Partners is hosting a “Top to Bottom Drive” in May to collect critically needed hygiene and cleaning supplies. SNAP benefits don’t cover those items, so DCP will be collecting them at Hannaford in Bar Harbor, Ellsworth and Machias, WalMart in Calais, and at the Blue Hill Coop on Friday, May 26th. A list of critically needed supplies is available on DCP’s website downeast community partners dot org .

On May 3 (Wed) from 11 to 1 pm youth leaders, and students at Coastal Washington County Institute of Technology’s Culinary Arts program at Machias Memorial High School will host their third annual Drive-Thru Luncheon to benefit Down East Teen Leadership Camp (DETLC).
